About Us

The Filing Fairies is a partnership between friends Jo Myers and Mara Morrison, who met working for an event management company.  It was there that they discovered their shared passion for order, lists and getting things done. ​​​​​​​​​​ ​In 2008 as part of a 150th Anniversary Tour for NAB they organised close to 200 events over an 8 month period. It was during that time they recognised their excellence as a team. Now as The Filing Fairies they hope to realise a vision of giving clients peace of mind through better organisation.

The Filing Fairies are members of the Australasian Association of Professional Organisers and certified members of the Association of Personal Photo Organizers.

​​My love of photos and preserving my family history through photos started at a young age, when I voluntarily sorted and organised shoe boxes of my parents photos into albums. Following this I was the family member responsible for scanning old photographs and slides and creating slideshows for milestone Birthdays and celebrations.

Before starting The Filing Fairies with Mara, I completed a Bachelor of Business Administration (majoring in Event Management) followed by an 11 year career as an Event Manager organising corporate, sporting and charity events, where I was able to utilise my love of organising (and list making!).

So combining my love of organising with preserving precious memories as a Personal Photo Organiser is my perfect occupation. I gain satisfaction from creating order in my life and those of others, so that we all have more time to enjoy the simple things in life, which for me is spending time with my family.

Organising is something I have always loved.  It is the way I think.  It is who I am.  I organise the pegs on the washing line and the CD’s on the shelf.  I was even heckled during a speech at my own wedding because I gave the bridal party a run sheet and check list.  I am an organiser, a coordinator, and an arranger.  My motto is work smarter not harder and the best way to do that is to be well organised.20141210 MM new headshot
With 20 years experience in various roles where I organised people as a PA, organised data as a data administrator and eventually through organising events where I met Jo, I realised organisation was not only a strength but a calling. Realising this dream I hope to achieve flexibility and work life balance so that I can spend more quality time with my husband and two young children.
